United States Enact New Sanctions On Iran

Erwin NewsUnited States (U.S.) has imposed new sanctions, against Iran's Intelligence Ministry. The sanctions were issued, for alleged violations of human rights by supporting terrorist groups and the Syrian government.

The U.S. Treasury said that, "The sanctions contained, the prohibition to do business and services to U.S. citizens, froze the assets of the ministry under the jurisdiction of the U.S., and U.S. visa ban on all its members," he said, quoted by Press TV.

The U.S. Treasury Department also accused the Iranian Intelligence Ministry, provide financial assistance and technology, to Lebanon's Hezbollah group and the Palestinian Hamas movement, and has participated with some of Hezbollah to hack U.S. computers.

Iranian Intelligence Ministry is also accused of facilitating the movement of al-Qaeda, by providing money and weapons to Al Qaeda in Iraq.

"Today, we have designated the Ministry of Intelligence for abusing human rights and supporting the Syrian regime's crackdown, in their own community," said Vice Minister of Finance for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, David Cohen.
